Report back - BilwiVision Fundraiser

On September 4th, Hurricane Felix struck the coastal region of Nicaragua, devastating communities and damaging basic infrastructure. BilwiVision, URACCAN, and the surrounding communities were hard hit by the hurricane.

In response to this event, the Toronto VIVA! group organized, "Resurgent Voices: a post-hurricane benefit for BilwiVision and autonomous media in Nicaragua" raising $700 to send to BilwiVision. The program included screenings of videos from The VIVA! Project, BilwiVision, The Story Project, and Regent Park Focus.

VIVA Book Proposal - February 2007

VIVA!: Art, Education and Politics in the Americas
A Proposal for a Bilingual Book and DVD

Brief description

Resurgent Voices: Fundraiser for BilwiVision Nicaragua

Name the VIVA book!

OK, guys, let's use this space to brainstorm possible titles for our book. Right now, it's quite boring: VIVA! Art Education and Politics in the Americas... So let's get the creative juices flowing here..! It's easy, just add a comment at the bottom of this page to get the conversation going or to keep it going....!

Collaborative Story / Historia Colaborativa

Hey todos!

This is the story that Olmo, Lisa, Lalo, Maggie, Laura and i came up with on our way to San Cristobal that very first night. It was the beginning, for me at least, of some of us starting to come together as a group.

Please forgive any spelling mistakes as i'm still writing Spanish phonetically.

QUE ONDA WAY COMO YOU ESTADAS CHIDO FRESCO Y VIAJANDO TO CHIAPAS WHERE LAS CUCARACHA SE MOURIO!

I wonder if we should continue on with the story? Feel free to add new stuff, anyone!

best wishes - noah

Chiapas fue un exito! a success!

Congratulations - the 3rd meeting of the VIVA! team was successful! We met Dec 14-21, 2006 in the Universidad de la Tierra in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. Every day was long and tiring, but we made it through some very thick content. It was nice to see you all, and I'll be in contact soon with information about the memoria and website!

In the meantime, feel free to publish your photos and comments to the webpage. To publish photos, go to "create content" then "image" and you can pick "La Tercera Reunion - Chiapas" as the image gallery category. Remember to leave the language category blank so that your image shows up to all users! If you have any questions about the website, feel free to email me at lcreinsb [at] yorku.ca.

Abrazos,
Laura

You are invited to leave feedback as comments at the bottom of each chapter!

In addition, there is now the official feedback form that can also be found in the "VIVA! Book" section of the website (click here). We will be using this feedback form as the foundation of our dialogues to improve each other's chapters and will exchange feedback forms during our gathering in Chiapas.
